Luminor Due: a new case, redesigned and thinner, faithfully inspired by the design of the Luminor models of the 1950s.
The new LUMINOR DUE collection opens a new chapter in the history of Panerai. It is the result of a challenge won by the designers and technicians of Manifattura Panerai: offer enthusiasts a new interpretation of Luminor, the brand’s iconic watch. Totally faithful to the original aesthetics it has a case which is thinner than before, almost 40% less than several models of the Luminor 1950 Collection.
The design of LUMINOR DUE is inspired by the Luminor 1950 case, which is the culmination of the Panerai creations produced for the Italian Navy between the 1930s and the 1950s. The ingredients are those well-known to any connoisseur of high-end watches: sturdy cushion case, wide opening on the dial surrounded by the bezel, the resistant integrated lugs, the bridge-shaped device which seals the crown by means of a lever and protects it from accidental shocks. All the elements come directly from the history of the brand and have been subtly redesigned to accentuate the versatility of a watch, perfect synthesis between sporting spirit and the possibility of use on any occasion.
With a thickness of just 10.5 mm x 42 mm in diameter, the case of the new Luminor Due 3 Days is the thinnest Luminor case ever created. Available in AISI 316L stainless steel, it has a black dial with sun-brushed finish, hand-wound movement with three days of power reserve. It is water resistant to 30 metres and completed by a black alligator strap.
